Comet Meunier-Dupouy

animation of the discovery

On this pictures two comets can be seen in a 13' by 8' field. The lower distance between the two comets was about 4 arcminutes. The quicker comet is C/1997 J1 found by Jean Mueller the 5th of May with Mont Palomar 1,20m Schmidt. C/1997 J2 Meunier-Dupouy is at the bottom and move slow. Both comets have a magnitude about 15.
Those pictures were taken by the LX200 F/D=10 and a camera HiSIS 22, 12 bits.
